NEXT MEETING

The next meeting is Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at 7:00 PM in La Hacienda Recreation Center. Donuts, coffee and tea will be furnished. Bob Collins, weatherman from WVLG radio, will talk on tornados. First nominations for Officer positions will be received this month with elections next month.

SICK BAY:

If any member becomes aware of a sick member or spouse whom we should respond to, let Helen Cusack know. Contact Helen at 753-1873 or at Dove11@comcast.net

PICNIC

The Club Picnic will take place on Sunday, April 6 from 1 PM to 5 PM at Mulberry Grove Recreation Center. The Club is paying for the food. Hotdogs, hamburgers, keg of beer, soda etc will be furnished. You must get a check for $10 per person to one of the officers of the club prior to March 28 (Note the deadline). Upon attending you will get your check back. It is suggested that if you have a lawn or folding chair that you bring it along as seating is limited. We have about 140 signed up already.

INFORMATION

It has been reported that there is a rash of golf cart thefts from the area of Spanish Springs Town Square. Be aware.

2008 APRIL GOLF OUTING

A Golf Outing is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15 at the Links at Spruce Creek South (across from Walmart). It is 18 holes with an 8 AM Shotgun Start. The cost is $27 which includes lunch paid by check at the time of signup. No refunds. Deadline is April 9. Signup sheets will be available at the April meeting or contact Marty Hockey, 3008 Egerton Pl, The Villages 32159, 259-2857. Include name of players and name with phone number of the person in charge. Complete information is on the website. Lunch is available for $5.00 for non golfers.

FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS

At our November meeting it was voted to support the Christian Food Pantry in Lady Lake or other needy Food Pantries by bringing canned or dried food products to each of our meetings so we hope you will bring what you can.

Shirts:

Both members and spouses shirts can be ordered at 3 Amigos Pro Shop next to McCall’s Restaurant. There are Club Jackets available through Audrey Williams (406-7609).

SECRETARY’S INFORMATION

2008 Dues of $10.00 are now due. Regretfully you will be dropped from the roster after the April meeting. We understand that due to other commitments some may not wish to continue their membership. Please bring a check, payable to “Police and Fire Retirees Club” to the meeting. If you are unable to attend the meeting you may send a check to: Lyn Lobdell, 1029 Nell Way, The Villages FL 32159.
