The next meeting is

7:00 PM
in La Hacienda Recreation Center. Note that due to the
Election we have been moved to the
Truman Village Recreation Center located on Canal Street
just north of Route 466A.
Donuts, coffee and tea will be furnished.
SPEAKER
Leo Champlain will
speak on Iwo Jima.
He is the sole survivor of the five men who put up the small
original flag on top of the mountain.
FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS
At our November 2007 meeting it was voted
to support the Christian Food Pantry in
Lady Lake
or other needy Food Pantries by bringing canned or dried
food products to each of our meetings so we hope you will
bring what you can.

member or spouse whom we should respond to, let

DECEMBER 2nd CHRISTMAS
PARTY
The
Christmas Party is scheduled for December 2nd.
The cost is $25 and the menu is Roast Loin of Pork,
Beef w/o Mushrooms, Roasted Potatoes and Ice Cream for
dessert. 6
to 6:30 PM is the
social portion with BYOB and dinner will be at
6:30 PM.
Music is “By George”.
It will be limited to the first 110 people. Contact
Doris White at 259-4732 for tickets. Deadline is November 25th.
DECEMBER 10TH GOLF
OUTING
A Golf Outing will take place at Spruce
Creek South on December 10th at
8 AM.
It is limited to 40 members.
Make up your own foursome or we can place players
into groups that lack 4.
We need at least 32 players.
Spouses welcome.
The cost is $27 for 18 holes and includes lunch, tax
and tip. Lunch
for non-golfers is $10.
Check (non refundable) made out to “Police and Fire
Retirees Club” should be sent or given to Marty Hockey, 3008

Both members and
spouses shirts can be ordered at
3 Amigos
Pro Shop
next to McCall’s Restaurant.
There are Club Jackets available through
Audrey Williams
(406-7609).
SECRETARY’S CORNER
2009 dues of $10 are not
due until January 2009 but if you wish to avoid the big
January rush you can bring a check for $10 made out to
“Police and Fire Retirees Club” to the November
meeting.
Our Current Membership is 284.
