NEXT MEETING

 

The next meeting is Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 7:00 PM in La Hacienda Recreation Center. Donuts, coffee and tea will be furnished. Mary Trotter, Board Certified Attorney, will speak on Elder Law, Wills & Trusts, and Estate Planning etc.

 

FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS

 
At our November 2007 meeting it was voted to support the Christian Food Pantry in Lady Lake or other needy Food Pantries by bringing canned or dried food products to each of our meetings so we hope you will bring what you can.
 

SICK BAY

If any member becomes aware of a sick member or spouse whom we should respond to, let Helen Cusack or Mike Varga know.  Contact Helen at 753-1873 or at Dove11@comcast.net 

ELECTION

 

This is another reminder that first nominations will take place this month with the election in May.   

SHIRTS 

Both members and spouses shirts can be ordered at 3 Amigos Pro Shop next to McCall’s Restaurant.  There are Club Jackets available through Audrey Williams (406-7609). 

 

SECRETARY’S CORNER

2009 dues of $10 are now due.  Please bring a check for $10 made out to “Police and Fire Retirees Club” to the meeting or if you wish you can send the dues check to me at 1029 Nell Way, The Villages, FL 32159. Those with unpaid dues after the April meeting will regretfully be dropped from the roster.  If there is a red check mark here on the mailed copy you are in arrears.

I have a NJ State Police retirees jacket (1921 – 1996, 75 yrs).  Please check with your NJSP friends to see who owns this jacket.

SUMTER COUNTY CHARITY GOLF

 

Sheriff “Bill” Farmer’s 11th Annual Golf Charity for Youth will be held on Saturday, June 6th at Tierra  Del Sol Golf  and Country Club in The Villages.  The flyer will be available on our website when released with signups starting around May 1st. If you wish to make a donation or volunteer to help contact Theresa Elliott at the Annex on CR 466, 753-2799.  More information will be in next month’s newsletter. If you know of any groups that would like to be a sponsor go to the club’s website and on the top of the “Event” page are links to PDF forms for sponsoring.

 

MEETING LOCATION CHANGES 

Please watch the website, newsletter and Daily Sun for the dates and locations of the June and September through November meetings as well as the December Christmas Party as LaHacienda Recreation Center is being remodeled and we will be moved while it is closed.  We may also have to meet on a different day of the month.

Our Current Membership is 317.
