NEXT MEETING
The next
meeting is
Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at
7:00 PM at
Savannah Recreation Center,
Charleston Room.
The speaker for the meeting will be Dr. Solanki an invasive
and non invasive Cardiologist who will talk on strokes. Note
our new meeting location until further notice. Donuts,
coffee and tea will be furnished. Note that this is a
different room than our June meeting (still in Savannah) and
we will be back in the other room in October.
Shirts
Both members and
spouses shirts can be ordered at
3 Amigos Pro Shop next to McCall’s Restaurant.
There are Club Jackets available through
Audrey Williams
(406-7609).
SUMMER PICNIC
The Summer Picnic is scheduled for
Sunday, September 27 at Mulberry Grove Recreation Center
from noon to 4 PM with lunch starting at 12:30 PM. It
will consist of Italian Sausage and BBQ Chicken. It
will be served with Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, Potato Salad,
Corn on the Cob, Iced Tea and a keg of Michelob. The
cost is $5.00 per person for members and spouses and $11.00
per person for non members. If you plan on attending
please send a check to Mike Varga, 17480 SE 75th Coachman
Ct, The Villages FL 32162 or bring the check to the
September meeting.
The September meeting (September 1) is the final date to signup.
I
still have a NJ State Police retirees jacket (1921 – 1996, 75
yrs). Please
check with your NJSP friends to see who owns this jacket.
Our Current Membership is 292.

FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS
At our November 2007 meeting it was voted to
support the Christian Food Pantry in Lady Lake or other
needy Food Pantries by bringing canned or dried food
products to each of our meetings so we hope you will bring
what you can.
LAKE TECH FIRE
ACADEMY
Ron
Williams, Fire Program Director, Lake Tech Fire Academy in
Tavares spoke on training and certification at our June
meeting. He is
looking for volunteers to judge a fire challenge combat on
October 10th.
He may be contacted at 352-742-6463.
Mike advises that it is very impressive. Please
contact Mike Varga at 750-2552 if interested as they may
have enough volunteers.
