GOLF OUTING

Patrick O’Neill reports that it was a very successful outing with 64 golfers.  First place was the foursome of John Patella, Ray Montecalvo, Bill Maughan & Roy Shoemaker with a score of 70.

ST PATRICK’S DAY PARADE

Thanks to Mike Spalding (and Jim Dooley) for spearheading the club’s participation in the St. Patrick’s Day Parades at both squares. We had 12 people and 4 carts at Spanish Springs and there were about 20 people at Lake Sumter.  Joe Singleton has a very impressive fire truck/cart. Hopefully we can build up our participation for future parades

ELECTION

First nominations for the offices of President and Treasurer will be accepted at the April meeting. Due to our bylaws changes only two offices will be up for election each year.

DUES

2010 dues of $10 are now due.  If you have not paid, please bring a check for $10 made out to “Police and Fire Retirees Club” to the April meeting.  You may also mail a check for $10 to Lyn Lobdell, 1029 Nell Way, The Villages FL 32159.  You will regretfully be dropped from the membership roster if your dues are not paid by the April meeting.

CLUB PICNIC

The club picnic was a success with almost 150 in attendance.  For yet another year we had to move inside due to the weather.  Thanks to the staff at Mulberry Grove the move worked out smoothly.

FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS

At our November 2007 meeting it was voted to support the Christian Food Pantry in Lady Lake or other needy Food Pantries by bringing canned or dried food products to each of our meetings so we hope you will bring what you can.

CLUB PATCH BOARDS

Thanks to Chief Ed Nathanson the club’s patch boards are now on display at the Lady Lake Police Department.
