NEXT MEETING

The next meeting is Tuesday, January 3rd at 7:00 PM at LaHacienda Recreation Center. The guest speaker for the evening will be Undersheriff Dan Kuhn, Marion County Sheriff’s Department. And with a special thanks to John & Dorothy Vlastos we will have coffee, tea and donuts. They have agreed to handle the coffee and donuts from January through May.

SPRING GOLF OUTING

 

Patrick O’Neill has again agreed to run the spring Golf Outing that is scheduled for April 17th.  More details will be available in February.  Stay tuned!

 

SUMTER COUNTY HR218 QUALIFYING

 

The Sumter County HR 218 Qualifying has been scheduled for Thursday, January 26th and Friday, January 27th. All members should have received the information by now.  If anyone has not and is interested please contact the Treasurer.

 

 

Due to my circumstances and due to the number of members and the confusion caused at the door in collecting dues, I am implementing the following. During January and February, only checks will be accepted for dues (except for new members).  The check can be made out to “P & F Retirees Club” in the amount of $10.  There will be a box at the door where you can leave your check (if there might be any confusion as to who the check covers please make a note in the “For” field) and I will process over the following month and the year sticker and receipt will be available at the following meeting.  There is no way that dues can be individually collected and still get our members in for the meeting on time.  Depending on the ones left in March and April we may then take cash.  I apologize for the inconvenience but feel this is the best way to handle this.

  

FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS

 

At our November 2007 meeting it was voted to support the Christian Food Pantry in Lady Lake or other needy Food Pantries by bringing canned or dried food products to each of our meetings so we hope you will bring what you can.

SHIRTS

 Both members and spouses shirts can be ordered at 3 Amigos Pro Shop next to McCall’s Restaurant.  There are Club Jackets available through Audrey Williams (406-7609).

CLUB ITEMS

 

The club flags will be available at the meeting for $20 each.  Hats are also available from Mike Varga.

I am also giving early notice that I will not be running for reelection for the position of Treasurer this spring.  I will have served the club for 7 years and feel it is time for a replacement. The two things that are part of the job are sending emails (I know some club members who are good at that) and  maintaining the club’s database.  The database is maintained in Microsoft Excel so if you can use Excel you can maintain the database.  I will work with whoever takes over as much as I can while I am here.

I have enjoyed it but it is time!!
